Beth H. Macy talked about how the military opens doors to the future. This was what she experienced. It may not have been open doors in the work translated to a career she was going to pursue. But her mindset shifted after her service in the Navy leading to a full career. She worked in High Tech, as a therapist, fitness instructor trainer and today she is the author the Moscow Night series that currently has three books with more on the way.

The Military Opens Doors to the Future
Beth had graduated college and didn’t have a lot of options. She wanted to do something different so she decided to join the military. Initially, she was going to join the Air Force, but they had met their quota so she decided to join the Navy. She liked their uniforms. She shipped off to Officer Training School that was six months. She talked about how it changed her as a person. She was torn down and then built up to be an officer.
Off to Wales
She headed off to Wales for her first assignment. But along the way ended up in Pennsylvania where they needed someone to do inventory. She did that for two weeks and then headed off to Europe. She really enjoyed her job and also loved traveling. But because a lot of the work she did was classified she didn’t know how to translate it to a job. She ended up moving back to the states for her second assignment and worked 15 minutes from her home at the Naval Prep School. Teaching math. A job she had already tried to get away from.
After 5 years of service she left the military and went on to new adventures. Working in high tech but finding different challenges and learning how to overcome them based on her experience.
Becoming an author
The retirement on the horizon and the pandemic led her to write her first book, Moscow Nights Return. It had success and she had more stories to tell so she made it a series and it currently has three books (Moscow Nights Return, Moscow Misdirection and Moscow Madness) and she is working on book 4 and 5.
