Are you about to face your first deployment? Do you need a deployment guide to help show you the way to prepare for and survive a deployment experience?
Hi, I’m Amanda military veteran and military spouse. I deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 for 9 months. I had about a month from when I found out I was leaving for Afghanistan. The first thing I did when I found out I was deploying was go to google and try and find as much as I could about the upcoming deployment. To my disappointment there wasn’t a lot of information. I got prepared for my deployment by following the base checklist and talking to others who had deployed.

Why a free deployment guide?
I realized it would be great to have a free resource guide for military members and military spouses who are about to face deployment. I used the information I learned from my deployment to have you covered from both sides. My husband is still in the military and although he hasn’t been deployed he has left for multiple trainings leaving me alone for an extended period of time. The experience of deploying and being a military spouse made me realize that I needed to create a deployment guide for you.
I decided to create not one, but two deployment guides. I created a deployment guide for military spouses and for military members. There is of course a lot of things that both military spouses and military members have to face for a deployment. Some of these things have cross over and other things are not related at all. I hope the tools I learned from my deployment and separation experience will help you as you embark on the journey of deployment.
You will learn so much about yourself. You can do more than you even realize.
