For those with busy schedules, you don’t need to put aside tons of time to volunteer—there are dozens of other ways to donate to these organizations. Cell Phones for Soldiers

A simple way to support both active duty members and veterans is through Cell Phones for Soldiers. Cell Phones for Soldiers accepts used phones that are provided to men and women service members to provide them with easy communication to their family and friends. Those overseas or at home station often need the support of those close to them to help them through their experience. Giving them easy access to quick communication will support them. Most people are often replacing our cell phones for the latest product, this can be an easy way to support service members. Partnered with Troopster Military Care Packages, Ice Shaker wanted to find an easy but effective way to support our service members. While serving overseas, these men and women are engaging in physical demands that require a lot of discipline, dedication and energy. Pets for Vets

People who enjoy helping animals and supporting our troops will love getting involved with Pets for Vets. This organization works closely with shelters to pair veterans with lovable animal companions. Proven to be beneficial to both the vets and the pets. This program is meant to help veterans cope with many of the issues they face when leaving active duty. Humans and animals can form strong bonds that are emotionally fulfilling for someone experiencing a tough point in their life.

Each applicant is interviewed to get a sense of who they are and what they’re looking for in a pet. Then, the organization contacts a shelter to learn more about the animals they are caring for in order to pair each veteran with the perfect companion. Operation Gratitude

There’s something special about receiving a thoughtful care package. Operation Gratitude works with volunteers and contributors to arrange and send care packages filled with hygiene products, snacks and clothing or accessory items for active soldiers and vets returning home. Though a care package may seem like a small donation, it’s an easy way to give back to our country and it really makes a difference to a lot of the recipients.

In 2017, the organization sent 283,000 care packages filled with more than 11,492,000 items. Donating items to a care package only takes a few minutes and will make a world of difference to the soldier who receives it. You can elect to contribute money towards the organization so they can purchase the items or you can view the wish list and send items included on here. If you want to get even more involved, you can host a donation drive and collect some of the top items needed in the care packages.

Fisher House Foundation

An easy but extremely helpful way to support our troops is by donating frequent flyer miles. If you find that you’ve been racking up those points on your credit card but not using all that you’ve earned. Consider donating some of the miles through the Fisher House Foundation to their Hero Miles program. Donations to this program are used to support service members who have gotten injured, sick or wounded. Your miles will help both the soldiers and their families travel to military and VA hospitals. Where they’ll receive treatment and medical attention. The Fisher House Foundation has collected more than $105 million from contributors to support these brave men and women.

Building Homes for Heroes

For those interested in more actively participating in a charity to support veterans. You can get involved with the Building Homes for Heros. To ease the process of transitioning back home. This program works on building and modifying houses that are gifted to veterans free of a mortgage. Volunteers are welcome to work on these properties.
