You guys probably know I am a cloth-diapering girl, but that doesn’t mean that I never use disposables.  When people make a choice between cloth diapers and disposables it normally comes down to convince so although I use cloth 85% I am always on a look out for a great disposable diaper that is reasonably priced and has what cloth diapers have yet to master, absorbability

I was pretty excited when I found out I would have the opportunity to team up with Huggies and Walmart to try out Huggies newest diaper the Huggies® Snug & Dry Ultra Diapers at Walmart.com. These new diapers provide ultra protection and ultra value because they are made by Huggies and are available only at Walmart.

My two main reasons for not using cloth diapers is nighttime sleep and going out an about for day or weekend trips. As my son has gotten older leaking and blowouts have become less of a concern, but still happen on occasion so having a new diaper to try boasting of long lasting protection peaked my interest.

The lack of worrying about leaking through the night with the trusted leak lock system with quick-absorbing layers for up to 12-hour of protection puts my mind at ease. No one wants to be woken up in the middle of the night, especially to a kid who has leaked through his diaper and now needs to be changed, sheets changed and basically woken up to be put back to sleep.

The day our diapers arrived we tried them out for night time wear and my son as normal for his bedtime routine climbed on everything. Testing out their flexibility and fit for us. I was impressed at how well they stayed in place and was excited to see how they would work for overnight.

Now, after using Huggies® Snug & Dry Ultra Diapers for about a week I have been so impressed by how much more the diapers can hold. Each morning the diaper seems to have room for even more. I actually started testing the limits and have waited a little bit to see how much it can hold. After an hour in the morning there were still no signs of leaking or even being at capacity.

And though doing cloth diapers for road trips is a possibility the ability to use the same diaper for the majority of the day without having to worry about leaking through the diaper or finding a place to change him every couple of hours is a nice relief.

And finally, one of the best parts of the diapers I almost forgot to mention has nothing to do with absorbance and is all about fun! They have a Disney theme. My son walked around the house off and on the first few hours after their arrival carrying around the package or just a diaper saying Mickey! And each morning after waking we were able to look for Mickey again. Who knew diapers could be so much fun?

  1. Sounds like a great diaper! I totally understand about the cloth diaper thing. We used cloth with the first two and I would have with my youngest, but we weren’t home owners at the time and still don’t have our own washer and dryer so the cloth diapers got shelved, but when I did use them we were probably in th 85% range too.

  2. Wow – what a fun and informative post for those still in this diapering stage! I’m so far out of that stage and I am actually closer to grands, than littles of my own (but not for years, please Lord!) 😉
