Are you looking for a way for your family to spend quality time together this Christmas season? Are you worried with all the hustle and bustle of the season you will miss focusing on the true meaning of Christmas? Do you want to create a tradition that will grow with your family as the years go on?
If you answered yes to any or all of the questions above this devotional is for you and your family.
My family is really excited about participating in this devotional starting on December 1st. We are planning to make it a yearly tradition and watch as our family grows and to add in more sections as time goes on. This devotional is meant for the whole family and helps parents tell their children about the “reason for the season” in a fun, thought provoking way.
The book is broken up into 3 parts.
- Is the Christmas story real? (Day 1-3)
- The Christmas Story (Day 4-21)
- Why is the Christmas Story Important? (Day 22-25)
Each day is broken into six parts. Depending on your family’s ages, busy schedule and other life factors you can include one, all six or something in between.
- A Closer Look
- Daily Devotional
- Let’s Talk
- Family time
The closer look section gives parents a little extra information for the devotion before you get started. Since our family consists of a toddler we will be doing the daily reading and family time activity. The family time activities are designed to bring you together as a family and to create lasting memories. Every day contains a meaningful Christmas song and most days contain a suggested children’s book. You can see the list of books here.
Our family hopes to set up this as annual tradition and build on it as our family grows. I’m really looking forward to celebrating Christmas this year and following this devotional as a family.
