How to make and use cloth wipes
When using cloth diapers you can use traditional wipes, but you can also use cloth wipes. The savings ratio takes awhile to see dividends, but if you have extra fabric they are free. Before my son was born I cut up some of the additional receiving blankets I received and they work great. You can also buy Cloth Wipes. You need between 20-40 cloth wipes depending on the week.
You can use water alone or a mixture of water and Tea Tree (Melaleuca) Essential Oil.
I have found that the tea tree oil helps to calm baby’s skin. So I use 1-2 cups of water with a few drops of tea tree oil. I have found the easiest way to use cloth wipes is to have a separate bin for the wipes and the water mixture (the water mixture is in an old Huggies wipe box.
When I need a new wipe I just dip it in the water mixture and use it on his skin. When I’m done I throw it in the wet bag and wash them in the same load as the diapers.
